Meet Brian

A Marin native, owner Brian Robinson has a Bachelor’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (1981), but truly has spent a lifetime in this work. He worked for Cagwin and Dorward for seven years before opening his own business in January of 1989. Even with over thirty years in the profession and twenty-five years owning his own business, Brian can point to even earlier roots.

At age four, he asked his mother for seeds to plant a vegetable garden. He grew chard, spinach and radishes. Both his parents were into gardening, and his grandparents as well. It’s in the blood. Growing plants for the family table as a child and learning about the landscape of Marin, Brian found his niche.

His extensive knowledge of plants from an early age is a unique qualification. He knows how to choose the right plants for the location, exposure, micro-climate, and pest-resistance. Plants and landscaping are as much a labor of love as a profession for him.

Married to wife Nita in 1984, with four children who attended Novato schools, Brian devotes hours to community work. He coached little league for many years and volunteers on the San Marin baseball field. He is a licensed Landscape Contractor, a member of the California Landscape Contractors’ Association and a Qualified Pest Control Applicator.
